About
Hello! I’m Abdelkrim TAFER, a dedicated and passionate Data Scientist currently pursuing a Master’s in Big Data at UPPA. With a background in statistics and several years of professional experience in data analysis, I specialize in leveraging big data technologies and machine learning to unlock the power of data in innovative ways.
My current role as a research intern at the LMAP lab allows me to delve deep into geographic information extraction and route reconstruction using NLP and machine learning techniques. My work involves enhancing the geoparsing system ‘Perdido’ to extract and geocode geographic entities from annotated texts efficiently.
Previously, I’ve honed my skills across various industries, including telecommunications and retail, where I implemented AWS S3 and Redshift to create automated reports and dashboards with Power BI.
I’m particularly fascinated by the challenges of teaching machines to understand and process human language and am always on the lookout for new problems to solve.
Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or by Email. Don’t forget to check out my projects on GitHub.
Let’s explore the fascinating world of data together!
